Orientation is an essential program that is designed to provide all participants with the necessary information regarding the subject matter. In line with this, the Pangasinan State University (PSU) conducted a university-wide orientation that will prepare the pre-service teachers of the nine campuses about what to expect regarding the Field Study courses.

On September 23, 2022, Friday, the university-wide orientation for students and mentors in Field Study courses with the theme, "Education 4.0: The Pathways to the Next Normal Learning Environment" took place. For the registration link, Ma'am Betha Fe G. Cruz, the Teaching Internship and Review Center Coordinator, forwarded it in the group chat of leaders, and then Ms. Imee Cristina Vila, the representative of Science-1, has sent on the link to her groupmates. Although the program was delayed for 30 minutes, the 16 eager members of Science-1 patiently waited for the program to commence. The said orientation started at 9:30 am via Zoom and FB live.

The university-wide orientation began with the netiquette for the virtual meeting and then the preliminaries. Assistant Professor Josephine Gonzalo, the PT & RC Coordinator of Binmaley Campus, led the University Prayer, followed by the National Anthem, ASEAN Hymn, Pangasinan Hymn, and PSU Hymn, respectively, through an audio-visual presentation. After that, Sir Joel John Agne, the PT & RC Coordinator of Urdaneta Campus, recited the Quality Policy of PSU.

To formally start the program, Ms. Kimberly B. Inaldo, the PT & RC Coordinator of Bayambang Campus, welcomed and presented the participants, particularly the star of the program, the 2004 field study observers from the nine campuses of PSU. After the presentation of participants, it was followed by a corporate video presentation which helped us become aware of the vision, strategies, and achievements of PSU. Moreover, it showcased the PSU quality management era. With this, the Science-1 members are honored to become part of the PSU family. In addition, Dr. Rico Reyes, the PT & RC Coordinator of Bayambang Campus, informed the participants about the purpose of the said orientation.

Before Dr. Johnson P. Sunga, the Educational Supervisor of the Curriculum and Learning Management Division at DepEd Region 1, gave his speech, the PT & RC Coordinator of San Carlos Campus, Mr. Jayson C. Salvatiera, helped us know him better by telling us his backgroun d. Afterward, Dr. Sunga discussed the theme, "Education 4.0: The Pathways to the Next Normal Learning Environment". The Science-1 members learned from Dr. Sunga that in the next normal, there is a need to recover the learning loss and address the learning gaps brought by the pandemic through prope r implementation of the recovery plan framework with the aid of technology.

After the discussion, Ma’am Betha Fe G. Cruz presented the general guidelines on the conduct of Field Study courses. A recorded intermission number was presented shortly afterward. Then, Associate Professor Perla G. Delos Santos, the Head of Practice Teaching and Review Center, led the closing remarks.

After the university-wide orientation, the Science-1 members become aware of what activities to expect in the Field study courses. We are also informed on what to expect under the next normal: we are encouraged to become creative and innovative in providing solutions by utilizing technology. More importantly, we have gained a better understanding of our chosen profession and appreciate it. .
